Nordhaven advised the shareholders of Norsirk on the sale to Stena Metall

1 july 2026

Nordhaven has acted as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of Norsirk AS ("Norsirk") in connection with the sale of the company to Stena Metall AB ("Stena").

Stena  has entered into an agreement with Stiftelsen Elektronikkbransjen (the Electronics Industry Foundation), Applia Norway, IKT Norge, and Abelia to acquire 100 percent of the shares in the producer responsibility company Norsirk AS. Completion of the transaction is contingent on approval from the Norwegian Competition Authority.

The agreement means that Stena Metall AB, through Stena Recycling, will take over ownership of Norsirk. Norsirk will continue to manage producer responsibility on behalf of its customers and members, while collection, treatment, and recycling will be carried out by industrial players in the value chain.

"This is an important milestone for Norsirk. Our task remains the same: to provide our customers with safe, efficient, and effective solutions for producer responsibility. We will continue to deliver as before, while contributing in an orderly manner to the process leading up to the Competition Authority's review," says Stig Ervik, CEO of Norsirk.

In its press release, Stena writes that the group's ambition is to be a leading player in the transition to a circular economy, in which resources are kept in circulation for as long as possible and at the highest possible value.
